One story,
told across fifty years

AkunaMedia is the work of Rajeev "MelRaj" Arora — engineer, technologist, broadcaster, author, poet.

It began at BITS Pilani, where a young engineering student edited the Hindi magazine, wrote poetry, and studied Hindustani classical music. It continued through a forty-year career in technology in Australia — culminating as a Chief Innovation Officer — while a parallel creative life never paused.

In 1992 he founded and began hosting the Indian Program at Radio 3ZZZ, Melbourne's multicultural community station. Three decades on, that program won the 2025 NEMBC Award for Best National Ethnic Program of the Year.

In 2025, the technologist and the artist finally became one practice. Rajeev released his first album of AI-composed music, launched the Melbourne Mulakat podcast, and presented the first fully-AI-music program on community radio. Then came Campus Rhythms BITS Pilani — an album and a book, created for a Golden Jubilee reunion and performed to a standing ovation in Jaipur.

AkunaMedia is where that continues — where purpose meets creativity meets technology.
